Rashtriya Lok Dal chief and former Union minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh died due to Covid related complications on Thursday. He was 82.
The former Union minister was admitted to a hospital after his condition deteriorated on Tuesday night. He had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 20.
The son of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, Chaudhary Ajit Singh was a seven-time MP from Baghpat. He also served as the Union Minister of Agriculture, Industry and Civil Aviation in different govts.
His party RLD wields influence in Jat-dominated western Uttar Pradesh.
