Reports say US lawmakers are ready to fund a $1.9 billion project to remove telecom network equipment from Huawei and ZTE, that the US government says poses national security risks. The programme will reportedly be included in a Covid-19 relief bill, and aims to provide funding to carriers to be able to "rip and replace" equipment from the US-banned Chinese firms.
