A total of 79.2 million PCs were shipped in the third quarter, up 12.7 per cent year-over-year, showing the fastest growth in a decade, tech research company Canalys said in a report.
Taiwan-based Acer was the biggest individual beneficiary from the trend, shipping 5.6 million PCs and up 15 per cent.
According to the estimates, which also include Chromebooks, Lenovo was the largest PC maker by shipments in the quarter.
