Reliance Industries has sought an urgent intervention of Government authorities to stop its cell tower vandalism. RIL on Monday said it has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the recent acts of vandalism to protect its employees and property, adding that vested interests and business rivals are behind the vandalism.
RIL’s statement came days after reports of more than 1,500 telecom towers in Punjab were damaged by farmers protesting against the three farm laws.
The oil-to-telecom major mentioned it has not done any corporate or contract farming in the past, and have absolutely no plans to enter this business. The exchange filing also said that Reliance has not purchased any agricultural land, directly or indirectly, anywhere in India.
