Rani Mukherji's next film 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' is set to release theatrically next year on May 2022.
Directed by Ashima Chibber, the film is being billed as an untold story about a mother's battle against an entire country, the movie is based on a true incident that rocked child and human rights at an international level.
The film is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani's Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios.
The shooting for the film started in August this year and wrapped up in October. Rani had said in a statement, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is an inspirational story about a mother fighting a country for her children and I went through a roller coaster of emotions shooting this film.”
'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' is reportedly based on the true story of a couple, Sagarika and Anurup Bhattacharya in Norway, whose kids were taken away from them by welfare services in Norway alleging extreme parental neglect. After intervention by the Indian govt, teh children were sent back to Kolkata to their uncle.
Rani's last big screen outing was Yash Raj Films' November release 'Bunty aur Babli 2', alongside Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.
