Rafale deal: Congress demands JPC after reports on French probe

The Congress on Saturday renewed its attack on the Narendra Modi government over the Rafale deal after reports that a French judge has been tasked to probe alleged corruption in the deal. Congress, which has been attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi for long over the deal, on Saturday against demanded a join parliamentary probe in the ₹59,000 crore fighter jet deal.
"French website 'Mediapart' has made public all the evidence in the Reliance-Dassault deal. Modi Govt and 'sweetheart' deal (Rafale Deal) is clear now. Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi allow Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation now?" Cpngress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala asked on Saturday.

'Mediapart' has reported that a French judge is probing alleged “corruption and favouritism” in the Rafale fighter aircraft deal with India. The French website carried a series of reports on alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal in April 2021.
