Punjab imposes statewide night curfew, ‘total ban’ on political gatherings amid Covid surge

Amid an alarming rise of coronavirus cases, the Punjab government on Wednesday decided to imposed a statewide night curfew from 9pm to 5am till April 30.

The government has also banned political gatherings till month end and issued warning that violators, including political leaders, will be booked under Disaster Management Act and Epidemics Act.

Punjab is one of the states that has contributed to the rising number of active cases and fatalities in the country.
