Congress is hard at work trying to resolve the in-house discord in the Punjab unit ahead of the assembly polls in the state.
A day after informing that the two had no meeting scheduled, Rahul Gandhi made time to meet Navjot Singh Sidhu at the former’s residence in New Delhi.
The meeting took place hours after Sidhu's four-hour discussion with party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at her residence earlier in the day.
The former Punjab Cabinet minister has been at loggerheads with Chief minister Amarinder Singh and has been on a continuous offensive publicly ever since he resigned from the Cabinet for being divested of the local bodies portfolio in 2019.
Captain Amarinder has also slammed Siddhu for the repeated offensive and slammed the politicians’ outbursts as "total indiscipline”.
A 3-member panel headed by Mallikarjun Kharge has been set up to resolve the infighting. Rahul Gandhi has been meeting leaders from Punjab and the party leadership is trying to revamp the state unit to present a united front before the polls.
