An Economic Advisory Council to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister would be constituted with leading experts including Nobel laureate Prof Esther Duflo and former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit said on Monday in his customary address to the Assembly that the Council is to prepare a roadmap for "rapid" and inclusive economic growth of the state.
He said the DMK government will make all out efforts to reverse the economic downfall and usher in a period of rapid economic growth.
Besides Duflo and Rajan, former chief economic advisor to the centre, Arvind Subramanian, development economist Prof Jean Dreze and former union finance secretary S Narayan would be part of the Economic Advisory Council.
