Coal India, the world's largest miner of black gold, has suspended supplies to industrial users or rather 'non-power' customers as India's power and coal crisis continues.

It is a temporary prioritisation of supplies to power plants till stabilisation in stocks is restored," unnamed CIL officials were quoted as saying. The miner supplies almost three-quarters of its total sales to the power industry as nearly 70% of India's electricity is powered by coal.
