PM Modi on Covid relief package: will enhance public health facilities in under-served regions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the economic measures announced by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to revive sectors suffering due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Taking to Twitter to praise the new loan schemes, PM Modi said, it will "enhance public health facilities, especially in under-served areas, boost private investment in medical infrastructure and augment critical human resources."

He also said that special focus has been placed on "strengthening healthcare facilities for children". PM Modi was referring to the additional funding of ₹23,220 crore for setting up paediatric beds and facilities in hospitals, announced by Sitharaman.
