A criminal writ petition filed in the Bombay High Court is seeking an investigation by the CBI or any independent agency against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

The petition has also sought directions to the investigating officers to secure CCTV footage as per Singh’s letter.

The former Mumbai police commissioner on Monday had moved the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into alleged malpractices by Deshmukh.
