Aimed at with pepper ball guns, stopped and searched, police chasing protesters
... these were a few sights in Hong Kong with thousands of police in riot gear.
On Sunday, people hit the streets against the government's decision to postpone elections for Hong Kong's legislature. About 290 people were arrested after online calls for a march was planned on the day the elections were initially scheduled.
As pro-democracy chants broke out, hundreds of Hong Kong Police filled the streets to take on the protesters who were randomly stopped and searched. Police fired pepper balls at protesters while people chanted slogans criticising the government and the police.
Sunday's election was postponed by Chief Executive Carrie Lam due to the pandemic.
