Amid cases of Black and White Fungus among patients who have recovered from Covid-19, a leading doctor in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad  claimed that a patient with a Yellow Fungus infection is being treated at his hospital.

ENT surgeon Dr Brij Pal Tyagi said that the 45-year-old patient's sinus was normal in CT scan but after performing endoscopy it was found that he had contracted all 3 types of fungi -Black, White & Yellow.

The symptoms of yellow fungus are said to be lethargy, weight loss, low appetite, or no appetite at all. Subsequently, more severe symptoms of yellow fungus can also be the leakage of pus.

The ENT specialist further added that the Yellow Fungus is generally found in reptiles and he has seen it in a human for the first time.

He said Amphotericin B can cure the infection but the wound takes more time to heal as compared to White & Black Fungus.
