Pandemic Pain: Half of all PF account holders have withdrawn funds since April 2020

The pandemic pain has pushed over 35 million PF account holders to withdraw funds since April 2020. As per reports Rs 1.25 lakh crore have been withdrawn by EPFO accounts from April last year. EPFO currently has just over 60 million account holders in India. 

Over 7 million account holders availed of the non-refundable covid advance that was offered by the EPFO during the pandemic. In just over 13 months Rs 18,500 cr has been withdrawn under the covid advance window from PF accounts.
