A committee of experts set up on the directions of the Home Ministry has warned in its report that 'paediatric facilities — doctors, staff, equipment like ventilators, ambulances, etc. are nowhere close to what may be required in case a large number of children become infected' with Covid-19, according to a report by Times of India.
The panel in its report also concluded that the third wave of the coronavirus may peak around October.
Last month, the group headed by NITI Aayog member VK Paul, in their recommendation shared with the government suggested preparing 23 hospitalisations for every 100 positive cases for a future surge in Covid-19 cases.
