Over 1.33 lakh people across 11 districts have been affected according to the state disaster management agency as the flood situation in Assam worsens. No loss of lives has been reported so far.
Districts affected by floods and heavy rainfall are Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, Sonitpur and Tinsukia.

A total of 243 villages have been affected due to flooding of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries and 6,217 people have taken shelter in 66 relief camps set up by the district administrations of Bongaigaon and Chirang, according to the state's disaster management agency.
