The Union government has brought films, audiovisuals, news and current affairs content on online platforms under the ambit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Video streaming providers Netflix, Hotstar Disney+, Prime Video and other OTT services will also come under the ministry.
The notification, signed by President Ram Nath Kovind, said that these rules will come into effect immediately.
