OnePlus has announced that it will merge its OxygenOS Android skin with Oppo’s ColorOS “to improve efficiency and standardise the software experience”.

This comes just weeks after OnePlus formally merged with Oppo, and became an Oppo sub-brand.

OnePlus has said in a forum post that the merger will happen at the codebase level, meaning users of OxygenOS won’t notice many significant changes.

OnePlus hopes to bring stable and timely software updates with the change, something it has struggled with in recent years.
