OnePlus issues refund to user who alleged Nord 2 blast: report

MySmartPrice has reported that a user, who had alleged their unit of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone combusted in a sudden explosion which caused heavy injuries, has now received a refund from the company.

The user had alleged that the phone had burst while kept in the front pocket, and had caused burns. According to the report, OnePlus will also pay for the medical expenses incurred by the explosion.

The report cites a relative of the user, who has provided this information. OnePlus has not yet made any official comments on the matter. The company’s twitter support account had indicated that they have reached out to the user, and were in the process of collecting details for an investigation into the matter.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G specs

To recall, the OnePlus Nord 2 is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 AI SoC, and features a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

For optics there’s a 50MP triple rear camera setup, along with a 32MP selfie camera. OnePlus has packed in a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging.

Pricing for the OnePlus Nord 2 begins at ₹27,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, and it is available from OnePlus.in and Amazon.
