After his sudden resignation from the Rajya Sabha, Trinamool rebel Dinesh Trivedi has hit out at his party while heaping praises on PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah. Speaking to NDTV, Trivedi said that he "did not need an invitation to join the BJP" and added there was "nothing wrong" if he did end up in that party. The BJP has said that its doors are open for the rebel Trinamool leader. Calling the PM and the home minister his old friends, Trivedi told NDTV that "if everywhere people have accepted them, then they are doing something right for the country". Hitting out at the Trinamool, of which he is a founding member, Trivedi said that the party has now "lost its soul".
