A lockdown has been announced in Bihar till May 15 as the state battles a massive surge in Covid-19 cases. Nitish Kumar said in a tweet on Tuesday that the decision to impose a lockdown in Bihar was taken after consultations with officers and concerned authorities and a detailed guideline over the restrictions will be announced soon.
Bihar Opposition leader, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav has hit out at Nitish Kumar saying the JDU leader failed to enforce the lockdown earlier as he was waiting for orders from others.
Bihar currently has over 1 lakh active coronavirus cases while its total case tally has crossed the 5-lakh mark. On Monday, Bihar reported 11,407 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 82 deaths.
