The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent notices to governments of Delhi, UP, Haryana and Rajasthan over the 'adverse impacts' of the ongoing farmers protests.
In a statement, the NHRC said that the ongoing protests have impacted industrial units, transportation while Covid safety norms have been flouted at the agitation sites.

There are also reports that people have to travel long distances to reach their destinations due to the ongoing agitation, and barricades have been put on the state borders, the statement added.
The commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretaries and DGPs of the four states and has asked them to submit a report on the action taken by them. Some institutions have also been roped in to conduct a survey and assess the disruption of livelihood, lives of people, impact on the aged and infirm persons due to protracted agitation by farmers.
Farmers from various states have been protesting and have camped at several sites since November 25 last year.
