According to the new guidelines issued by the federal government, Americans must do “150 to 300 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity each week". Moderate activities include brisk walking or playing volleyball, while vigorous activity includes running. The guidelines also state that children between the age of 6 and 17 years must exercise an hour a day. Recommendations for women, pre-schoolers and people with disabilities have also been included.
