A new entrant in the UP BJP has sparked a controversy, literally.
Jitendra Singh Bablu, a former BSP MLA from Faizabad joined the BJP Wednesday, but his induction has caused much heartburn to party MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
Bablu is the main accused in an arson case, in which the residence of the Prayagraj MP was burnt down in 2009.
Soon after Bablu's induction, Joshi accused him of “hiding facts” from the BJP leadership. Joshi who herself joined the BJP in 2016, said that she will talk to party president JP Nadda and state leadership and request them to cancel Bablu's primary membership,
In 2009, Joshi was the Congress’s state president in Uttar Pradesh when her house was set ablaze, days after her party protested against the then BSP government.
At the time, Bablu was an MLA from Bikapur in Faizabad. In 2011, he was arrested in the case but later secured bail.
