At least something is getting cheaper! Netflix has announced a sharp reduction in plans across the board. From the basic flagship plan to the new mobile-only plan, the viewing platform has cut prices by as much as 60% for some plans.

The biggest price drop was seen in its flagship basic plan which will now cost just Rs 199, down from Rs 499 earlier. The mobile-only plan which used to cost Rs 199 a month would now be charged at Rs 149. Almost half of Netflix's subscriber base use this plan.
The standard plan, which allows access to two, will now cost Rs 499 (from Rs 649) and the premium plan, which allows access to four different devices at the same time, was reduced to Rs 649 from Rs 799.

Analysts say that the drop in prices will help Netflix to expand its customer base as India is considered crucial for its business.
