NASA's Osiris-Rex spacecraft would be touching down on a skyscraper-sized asteroid, 200 million miles away on Tuesday and if all goes as planned, it will bring back chunks of the asteroid for further research.
Osiris-Rex will use its robotic arm to collect the samples of asteroid Bennu instead of landing on the surface of the asteroid.
Nasa shared that Bennu, which is a primitive asteroid and believed to have formed over 4.5 billion years ago, could give important information about life on Earth.
The asteroid could also be rich in gold and platinum and this could help researchers study the feasibility of asteroid mining.
