Bail granted to two TMC ministers, an MLA and another former party leader, was put on hold by the Calcutta high court on Monday evening.
The leaders were arrested by he CBI on Monday morning in the Narada sting scam amid high drama which saw CM Mamata Banerjee landing at the agency office and daring it to arrest her too.
The leaders were granted bail by a sessions court, which was promptly challenged by the CBI in the high court. They have now been sent in judicial custody.
The CBI office at Nizam Palace in Kolkata became the political battleground as TMC supporters staged protest and hurled stones at security personnel.
On a day of fast-paced events, Banerjee sat on a dharna from 11 AM to around 5 PM demanding the release of the TMC leaders. The CBI accused the CM of interfering in the probe and has sought a transfer of the trial outside Bengal.
