Sensex has soared to 60,000 and it is the retail investors that are hosting the party on Dalal Street. The retail rush into the market is evident with SIP contributions soaring to an all time high nearing Rs 10,000 cr and even folios under retail schemes rose to a peak of Rs 8.95 crore. New fund offers (NFOs) continued to attract big money from retail investors and mobilised Rs 23,668 crore in August
Investors also poured in Rs.6,863 Crore in equity oriented NFOs .
The overall Assets Under Management of MFs touched a new high of ₹36.59-lakh crore last month.
There also seems to be 2-3 trends emerging out of the recent mutual fund investments by investors. The small-cap category has shown outflows while money seems to be moving into hybrid or balanced funds. The balanced advantage category continued saw net inflow worth Rs 16,570.97 crore last month and Flexi cap funds saw inflows of Rs 4,741 crore, followed by focused funds.
