Michael Holding has announced his retirement as a commentator and broadcaster from cricket. One of the fiercest bowlers of his time and a respected voice behind the mic, Holding was a member of the Sky Sports panel for over two decades.
He had been contemplating his retirement for the past year and said he couldn’t just walk away from Sky, as the company has done a lot for him throughout his career as a commentator. The 66-year old, who was part of the commentary panel for India vs England Test series had said that he won't be able to travel and be on the road like he used to at his age anymore.
Holding who retired from cricket in 1987 was famous for his insightful analysis. His monologue on racism in sport and society after the death of George Floyd was widely appreciated.
