Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, on Sunday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering six suggestions to tackle the incumbent Covid-19 crisis.

The Congress leader asked PM Modi to convene an all-party meeting and virtual meetings of the standing committees of Parliament. The letter also sent to Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu demanded use of ₹35,000 crore allocated in Union Budget to ensure free vaccine for all.

Kharge said in his letter that the scope of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act should be extended to 200 days.

The letter comes a day before the Congress Working Committee holds a meeting to review the party's performance in the recently concluded assembly elections and the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
