Contrary to expectations of batting deep on the 3rd Day of the 2nd Test in Melbourne, Team India were bowled out for 326 in their 1st innings with a crucial lead of 131 runs over Australia. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for 112 along with Ravindra Jadeja who managed 57 in the morning session. The last 5 batters could only add 49 runs to their overnight total as the Aussies mopped up the tail with ease. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon finished with 3 wickets each for the hosts in the 1st innings.
