Mehul Choksi a prohibited immigrant, Dominican govt declared : reports

The Dominican government on Thursday declared fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi as a “prohibited immigrant” in their country.  India Today reported that it has seen an order issued by the Ministry of National Security and Home Affairs.

The order stated Choksi is ‘not permitted to enter the Commonwealth of Dominica’ and instructed the Chief of Police to take all the necessary actions to have him repatriated’.

Choksi wanted in a Rs 13,500-crore bank fraud case in India, has been in custody in Dominica since May 24 after he was charged with illegally entering the country.
