Meet Roobi, Maya, Bobby - dogs who guarded India's Kabul embassy

There were three very special passengers on the emergency flight that brought Indian embassy staff and security personnel from Kabul on Tuesday.

Roobi (a female Belgian Malinois), Maya (a female Labrador) and Bobby (a male Doberman) were brought back from Kabul after the Taliban takeover.

The three combat dogs who were part of the ITBP commando security contingent in Afghanistan that guarded the Indian embassy for about three years.

They will now be deployed with the border guarding forces' anti-Maoist operations unit operating in Chhattisgarh, officials said on Wednesday.

Officials told news agency ANI that Roobi, Maya and Bobby detected many improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and protected the lives of not only Indian diplomats but also the local Afghan civilians working in the embassy.
