Calling it one of the craziest Formula 1 seasons ever won't be wrong, as it came down to the final lap of the last race to decide the champion. When the engines stopped and the smoke cleared, it was Red Bull's Max Verstappen who reigned supreme in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and clinched his first F1 title.

Eyeing a record 8th F1 title, which would have taken him past Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton came into the final race tied in the championship standings with Verstappen. Despite the Dutch starting from pole, Hamilton overtook him midway before Verstappen drove past the British driver in the final lap to become the first Dutch F1 champion.

The race also saw a heartbreaking end for former F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen as crashed out of what was the final race of his career.
