Massive crowds seen at Haridwar for Kumbh in violation of Covid norms

In complete violation of Covid norms, massive crowds were seen at the Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar on Sunday for the 'Shahi Snan', part of the ongoing Maha Kumbh. Most people were seen without masks or adhering to social distancing protocols. 

During random testing at Har Ki Pauri on Sunday, at least nine individuals were found positive for Covid-19. Haridwar in Uttarakhand reported 372 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Sunday less than 24 hours before the second 'Shahi Snan' in the holy city. 

Uttarakhand now has 7,323 active cases of Covid-19, taking the state's total to 1,08,812 confirmed cases and 1,760 deaths so far.
