India's largest auto maker Maruti is in top gear driving into August as July sales beat street estimates with a large margin as they rose over 50% vs last year.
July sales clocked in at a 1.64 lakh units for Maruti, which marks the highest level of sales since February and a 19% jump even from June.
Sales of utility vehicles, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, stood at 32,272 units last month as compared to 19,177 in the year-ago month, the company said. Smart rise in mini and compact sedan segment were also seen.
