After Nusrat Jahan revealed in a statement that her marriage with Nikhil Jain is invalid in India, Nikhil said he has filed for an annulment in Kolkata.
Days after Nikhil said he is not the father of the child Nusrat is carrying, the TMC MP and Tollywood actress issued a statement addressing her relationship status, for the first time since rumours of pregnancy started doing rounds on social media.
Nusrat broke her silence regarding her separation from Nikhil Jain and revealed that her marriage with Nikhil was according to Turkish Law and is not valid in India. She also said since it was an interfaith marriage, it required validation under the Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen. In a 7-point statement, she said, the alleged marriage is not legal, valid and tenable.
She also alleged that her belongings, like family jewellery and other assets, have been 'illegally held back'. She further claimed that her 'funds were mishandled' from various accounts without her knowledge.
