West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday once again alleged that the “blatant misuse of the central forces continues unabated,” as the state went to the polls in the third round of the eight-phase assembly elections. She claimed despite their complaints the Election Commission remained a mute spectator while men in uniform were used to openly intimidate TMC voters and influence voters. While addressing a rally in Cooch Behar ahead of phase 4, Mamta attacked the prime minister, saying he taunts her at meetings. She also went to call Prime Minister Modi a liar, saying the BJP has lied about the creation of a separate Narayani battalion within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
