In a four-hour-long operation, the Wildlife SOS and the Maharashtra Forest Department rescued an injured male leopard who broke into the canteen of Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya in Ahmednagar district.
While the school was closed due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the maintenance staff present at the school premises immediately locked the big cat in the canteen as soon as they discovered it.
Along with the details, Wildlife SOS through its Instagram also shared the video of the rescue mission. Equipping themselves with safety nets, a trap cage, and protective gear to carry out the rescue mission the 5 member Wildlife SOS team rushed to assist the forest officers, Wildlife SOS wrote in the caption.
They further informed that the 7 to 8-year-old leopard who had wounds over his body was sent to the Leopard Rescue Centre in Junnar for treatment. He has been now released in the wild safely.
