Top Maharashtra ministers met at Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's home on Tuesday to discuss tackling the subject of Sachin Waze, the police officer arrested for his suspected role in the Ambani bomb scare case.

The opposition has accused the Maharshtra government of shielding the Assistant Inspector because of his political connections.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar denied such accusation and said the guilty will not be spared but no one will be punished before there is established evidence against them.

When quizzed about speculation that Mumbai Police chief Parambir Singh may be shunted out, Pawar ‘until there is proof of anyone's guilt, they will continue working.’
