Danish actor Mads Mikkelson is going to replace Johnny Depp as Grindelwald in the third part of Fantastic Beasts franchise, Warner Bros confirmed on Wednesday.
Mikkelsen has reportedly been director David Yates' top choice for the past two weeks after Depp agreed to step down from the sequel losing a libel case in the UK against a tabloid that branded him as a 'wife beater.'
Currently in production at Warner Bros. Studios, the latest installment in the series takes audiences back to the wizarding world. Fantastic Beasts 3 was originally slated to release in Nov, but it recently shifted to summer 2022.
