It was a crucial Day 4 for India and Virat Kohli's men had a mixed outing. England had secured a 27-run 1st innings lead and India lost both openers just to get past that. Virat Kohli looked good but once again failed to carry on and was dismissed for just 20.

All eyes were on the out of form pair of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane but this time they came good. While Pujara grind it out for his 206-ball-45, Rahane went on to score 61. The pair together India's first hundred run 4th-wicket partnership at Lord's. But both failed to convert it into a big score and Jadeja too went back cheaply. Bad light though forced early stumps as India ended Day 4 at 181/6, leading England by 154 runs.
