In the first election battle of 2023, the northeast state of Tripura is voting to select its new government. The ruling BJP-IPFT combine is facing a challenge by the Congress-Left tie-up, as well as the tribal outfit TIPRA Motha, and Bengal's ruling party TMC. In 60 constituencies, 259 candidates are in the fray, and over 28 lakh people are eligible to vote. Results will be declared on 2 March 2023.
