This Diwali, The United States has emerged as the leading source of international travellers heading to India for celebrations in 2024, according to a report by digital travel platform Agoda. NewDelhi tops the list of the most-searched cities by international visitors for the Festival of Lights, followed by Goa and Mumbai.
Among domestic travellers, Goa has secured the top spot. Agoda reported a 17 per cent increase in accommodation searches as compared to 2023.
Apart from the US, tourists from the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan have also shown interest in attending Diwali functions in India. Domestically also there was a 23 per cent increase in accommodation searches for Goa, Udaipur, Pondicherry and Mumbai.
