Mumbai 'Dabbawalas', known for delivering fresh home-cooked food to offices, have received an invitation for the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and they have started preparing for it.
They will reportedly present the monarch with a traditional Puneri turban and a shawl. The spokesperson for the dabbawalas has also informed that they were invited to the event organised by the British High Commissioner at Mumbai's Hotel Taj Mahal Palace on May 2.
For the unversed, the relationship between the King and the dabbawalas goes a long way, as King Charles had met up with them during his India visit in 2003, at Mumbai's Churchgate station. In 2005, two dabbawalas were even invited for the royal wedding of Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles.
