Monsoons are here and we all enjoy this season with some chai-pokada by our side. But in this season the lovely breeze comes with aggravating musty smell inside our homes.
One of the most common reasons for this smell is that during the monsoons the air is very humid and this moisture tends to leave the air inside your home, moist and warm, which is the perfect atmosphere for fungi and molds to grow.
Here are some easy remedies you can try at home to get rid of this annoying and unhealthy smell.
1. Burn a few pieces of camphor (kapoor) to get rid of fungal infestation and smell.
2. Make sure to let sunlight enter your house, whenever the is clear and the sun is out. Allow cross ventilation to get rid of smell.
3. White vinegar is a potential agent when it comes to fighting bad odour. Keep white vinegar in a wide-mouthed bowl inside your room and you will notice the bad odour vanish eventually.
4. Place some pieces of sea salt or white salt in bags/cloth and close the mouth of the bag and leave it inside the smelly rooms.
