Thyroid has become a common problem all over the world and, according to survey by SRL Diagnostics, 42 lakh people in India suffer from Thyroid issues. If you are also struggling with it, you can get some relief from it by making some changes in your diet. Let us tell you.

Avoid processed food

Try to avoid junk food like frozen pizza, doughnuts and microwaved food. Instead, include things like fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet.

Reduce salt and sugar intake

Consuming too much salt can increase thyroid problems that can increase risk of type 2 diabetes. Therefore, try to avoid soft drinks, cakes, ice cream and other artificial sweeteners.

Follow a gluten-free diet

Gluten present in wheat can cause irritation in small intestine and interferes with the absorption of nutrients needed for the production of thyroid hormone.

Do not eat late at night and avoid overeating

Try to avoid midnight munching and keep at least a gap of 10 to 12 hours between your dinner and breakfast. Also, always eat a little less than your appetite.
