Everytime you feel low or when things go down, do you feel like deactivating Instagram? Your go-to options are to isolate yourself, limit your interactions and prefer to take time away from social media. If yes, then that might not be depression but emotional exhaustion!

Emotional exhaustion happens when you extend yourself more often and these things take a toll on your mental health. It also happens when you feel overwhelmed by the things that are happening in your life.

Alaokika Motwane, Mumbai-based psychotherapist, said that stress has now itself become an epidemic. She further said that people have become used to the constant mix of adrenaline and cortisol because of the uncertainty that is happening within them and in the outside world.

Women are more likely to feel emotionally exhausted and this happens due to cultural conditioning. It is because time and again they have been suppressed and are shamed when they can't multitask in their daily life.

How to cope with emotional exhaustion?

According to the psychotherapist, our generation thrives on solutions but for this, there is no five-point solution that can quickly help you out. She said that there is a pattern of behaviour that needs to be read so that the underlying struggle with mental health issues can be dealt with and in this therapists can help you out.

So, next time when you feel overwhelmed and think of deactivating Instagram, book yourself a therapy!
