Winter season is here and it's time to hog onto some leafy vegetables like spinach and fenugreek among others. And talking about spinach reminds us of one of the most loved dishes among Indians, palak paneer.
However, nutritionist Nmami Agarwal in one of her Instagram posts, says that there are some specific combinations that don't go well together and one among them is palak and paneer.
She says, spinach is rich in iron and paneer is rich in calcium and when these two are eaten together they inhibit the nutrient absorptions of each other. Nmami further explains that calcium in paneer restricts the absorption of iron from spinach.
Instead, she suggests combining spinach with potato or corn as they are equally nutritious and do not inhibit nutritions of each other.
